Great news for all you July For Kings fans. After last year’s announcement that the band will reunite, and record another album, the first song off the upcoming album has now been released to the internet. “Say It Now”, a great uptempo rock & roll song, that immediately shows the strength, balance, and chemistry that we so dearly loved in July For Kings. It’s like they’ve never went on that break.
Joe did a great job on his solo effort, Curvature, which was a very refreshing and a-typical album (that’s a positive thing). And I think it made him stronger, and even more diverse and experienced as a songwriter. But I am very grateful for the band to be back together, as that is what just sounds absolutely right.
The infectious “Say It Now” is a very good song, and the timing seems right. With some good plugging from the band and the fans (and we all know they have an amazing underground fan base), this song could do quite well on pop and rock radio.
Want to hear it too? Of course you do. It’s on Alternative Addiction and on the Crocs Battle Of The Bands website. I will include both links.

CrocsBattleoftheBands (please don’t forget to vote for JFK)
Also read JFK’s blog on the song and the B o/t B contest, that could bring them back to the top. Please don’t hesitate to vote for them, as they really deserve it. I was afraid they were gonna have the same faith as one of my other favorite bands, Honestly, who took an indefinite break, that turned permanent. Those guys were extremely talented, and wrote and recorded some of the best pop/rock songs in recent history, but they just didn’t get a break.
Joe Hedges, July For Kings’ frontman also released a tentative tracklist, which shows there are both old and new songs on the upcoming album. The older songs are re-recorded and perhaps altered from their original versions, but longtime fans should hear a sound of recognition. This comes straight from Joe’s Blog
TENTATIVE TRACK LIST:
1. Houses Made of Stained Glass
2. Perfect World
3. Say It Now
4. Falling (How do I)
5. Like a City

8. Six Hour Drive
9. Sam (Revival)

check out the blog entry for more notes and possible songs that will also be released (later on).
I tried to get the lyrics, but there probably still are plenty of flaws. But I think the bulk of it could be correct.
Say It Now
July For Kings
Sooner or later
It’s coming all out
Pieces of paper
Fall from my mouth
How many sleepless hours align
Sooner or later, it’s gonna be fine
And I’m here tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
Hover around the light
Tell us something right
I’m in the water
You’re on the land
Silence is fodder
For sharks in the sand
Changing the weather
Alter my sight
I’m feeling tethered
You’re in the sky
And I’m here tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
Hover around the light
Tell us something, do it tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
Hover around the light
Tell us something right
oh-ey-oh-ey-oh
oh-ey-oh-ey-oh
oh-ey-oh-ey-oh
etc.
Sooner or later
You’re all on your own
You’re a creator
I’m in the stone
And I’m here tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
Hover around the light
Tell us something, tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
Tell us something right
Tell us something, do it tonight
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
If you’re gonna say it, say it now
thanks to faeree from LH B-Sides for the corrections
